Bend's Community Center will host free meals to the community on Thanksgiving Day. A hot breakfast will be offered from 8:30am - 11:30am and will include: pancakes, syrup, biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausages and an assortment of fresh fruits, beverages, cold cereals, and pastries.
A traditional holiday dinner will be offered from noon - 4pm and will consist of: full salad bar, rolls, butter, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, hot vegetables, roasted turkey, baked ham, cranberry sauce, fresh fruit salad, beverages and desserts.
Attendance for the Thanksgiving day meals is expected to be approximately 500-600 people throughout the day, and there are no restrictions or qualifications, all are welcome at no charge.
Bend's Community Center is a 501 C3 nonprofit organization with a mission to help homeless and low-income people achieve a higher standard of living by providing basic services to fulfill basic needs. This mission is achieved by providing 1,200 meals each week plus meals on all holidays, winter outdoor survival gear, free clothing and other basic necessities, job training, a diaper bank, a bike repair shop, and Becca's Closet which offers free formal wear to low-income teens.
